Gov. Dave Heineman today commented on the need to pursue the death penalty in Nebraska.

Gov. Heineman sent the attached letter to Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine, supporting his comments to seek the death penalty for the recent murders in Omaha. The county attorney has charged Nikko Jenkins with four counts of first-degree murder in the Aug. 21 slaying of Andrea Kruger, the Aug. 19 slaying of Curtis Bradford and the Aug. 11 slayings of Jorge Cajiga-Ruiz and Juan Uribe-Pena.
